Best Small Family Business Award Goes to Rosedale Funeral Home

Rosedale Funeral Home – a Diss – based funeral service – has just been named the Best Small Family Business of the year in the 2012 edition of the national Red Ribbon Awards. The funeral home was able to win over stiff competition from across the United Kingdom and from different businesses. There was a real cause for celebration for the staff of the South Norfolk business as it was able to garner quite a few awards. The national award was a follow up to the success that Rosedale was able to achieve at the regional business awards. Who We Are

Salvatore “Buddy” Scotto Community activist Buddy Scotto is the principal owner and Licensed Manager of Scotto Funeral Home. Son of Patsy and Rose Scotto, the founders of Scotto Funeral Home, Buddy has always considered Scotto Funeral Home a center for life in Carroll Gardens often opening the funeral home up for public meetings and civic organizations. Buddy is a proud alum of St. Stephen Grammar School and Bishop Laughlin Memorial High School. A graduate of the original St. Francis College, Buddy served a commission in the Korean War in 1950 and successfully completed Officer’s School. Buddy later returned home to the old neighborhood and obtained his Funeral Directors License so that his parents could retire.
