On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, Jose Javier Matias, loving son and beloved brother passed away at his home at the age of 51. Jose was born on December 2, 1970 in Brooklyn, NY to Jose and Margarita Matias. Jose served as a Public Safety Officer for over 20 years for the Downtown Alliance. He enjoyed his work making the city a more welcoming place, but more importantly enjoyed the company of the co-workers he befriended during his tenure. There were a few simple things that brought great joy to Jose. He had a great love for movies, gaming, music, and role-playing games. During his downtime he spent many hours with his friends (both online and in real life) exploring many aspects of these mediums and  when he passed he was surrounded by the things that he loved and the people
