Thousands Flock to Reception for Fallen Firefighter

Webster Thomas High School’s field house underwent a transformation to become a reception area within three days after the funeral service for fallen firefighter Mike Chiapperini. Numerous volunteers, Wegmans employees, and football coach Schott Deuschle all took part in setting up tables and worked throughout Saturday evening to help in the preparation of the donated food that was meant to feed 4,000 people. From all across the country and even from as far away as Canada, fellow firefighters came in order to express their show of support for a fallen comrade. You don’t want to jade the stereotypes, but knowing the area too, I mean, to see something like that in a small community, a nice community and that close to home. A funeral firm is expanding after it has made a significant investment. The family-run Darlington Funeral is expanding its services after its directors Seaton Leng and Son have gotten some financing from Barclays and also some assistance from Keith Crossley, the business manager of the bank. Established in 1891 in Gladstone Street, Darlington, the funeral firm is presently being jointly run by the Tindale family’s second and third generation. It is now based at Bondgate, Darlington. Funeral Industry Leader to Acquire Virginia Funeral Home

Nelsen Funeral Home, a funeral home in Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, is about to be bought by the largest funeral company in the country – Service Corporation International. The deal that is about to be completed was revealed in a release that was made public late last Thursday. After acquiring the Nelsen Funeral Homes in Ashland and Richmond, and also the Charlottesville and Richmond locations of what’s considered as spin offs of the Nelsen Funeral Homes, the Cremation Society of Virginia, SCI has now set its sights on the Strawberry Plains Road branch. In addition to completing that particular deal, SCI has also reportedly made agreements to buy the Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg, as well as the Cremation Society pf Virginia in Chantilly.
