Born & raised in Brooklyn NY. The son of the late Carmela & Giuseppe Ruggiero. Proud Korean War Veteran and Master Plumber. Beloved husband of 30 years to Rose Mary (Russo) Ruggiero Preceded in death by his first wife Angelina (Bosa) Ruggiero and his brothers Nicholas & Joseph. Loving Father of Camille Feaser (Ted), Joseph Ruggiero (Annamarie), Angela Ruggiero, StepFather to Caroline Dinten (Alfredo). Adored and loved by his grandchildren, Marie & Ted Feaser, Angelique, Matthew & Joseph Ruggiero, Nicole Dinten DiPilato, Danielle & Dylan Dinten. Cherished brother of Chris DeCorato (Joesph) & Lucy Illiano (Sal, deceased) He was respected and adored by his many nieces & nephews. She was born Josephine Sconzo on November 15, 1927 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Anthony and Eleanor Sconzo. She was raised in Brooklyn with her older brother Anthony “Buddy” Sconzo and in 1946 she graduated from the Central High School of Needle Trades in Manhattan. Josephine would go on to work as a sales clerk at B. Altman and Company. She married Thomas Pellegrino on August 30, 1947. Josephine worked part time as a sales clerk at Abraham & Strauss (later Macy’s) in Downtown Brooklyn, but her passion was raising her four children. Despite losing her own mother at a very young age Josephine excelled at being a mother. She served for several years as the President of the PTA at P.S. 105, where each of her children attended. Father Burns was born on March 17, 1961 in Brooklyn, was ordained to the Priesthood on May 23, 1992, and died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Holy Name of Jesus Rectory. Father Burns served the Diocese of Brooklyn as Pastor of the Parishes of St. Michael (Brooklyn) and St. Martin of Tours-Fourteen Holy Martyrs (Brooklyn), as Administrator of Blessed Sacrament (Jackson Heights), as Parochial Vicar of the Parishes of St. Catharine of Alexandria (Brooklyn), Blessed Virgin Mary Help of Christians (Woodside) and St. Francis de Sales (Belle Harbor). He also served the Parishes of St. Leo (Corona) and SS. Peter and Paul (Brooklyn). Additionally, he ministered with the Office of Parish Giving. Father Burns is survived by his brothers Michael, Edward and Daniel as well as his sister Jeanne. The arrangements are as follows: WAKE : Thursday, December 20, 2018
