You can only imagine the horror David Wells of Rohnert Park felt when he got a call from an investigator saying that the body of his father, that was meant to be cremated, was found in a storage unit, badly decayed along with eight other bodies. Wells said the family had paid mortician Anthony Villeggiante $1,500 for the cremation of his father, but weeks passed and his ashes never came. To make matters worse, the mortician had apparently sprinkled carpet deodorizer over the bodies to mask the smell of decay. It’s unknown exactly how many of these incidents occur, but after NBC Bay Area’s Investigative Unit reviewed disciplinary actions for just the past two years, a number of horror stories were uncovered. Two years after the Amy Winehouse’s passing, a second inquest was opened and confirmed that the cause of the Grammy-winning singer’s death was alcohol toxicity. Coroner Shirley Radcliffe ruled Tuesday that singer died of accidental alcohol poisoning after a while of abstinence, AP reports. Radcliffe added that Winehouse, who passed away on July 23, 2011, consumed the alcohol “voluntarily.” No suspicious circumstances were found in her death Her lifeless body was found in her Camden, London home surrounded by numerous empty bottles of vodka. The funeral service for a slain kindergarten teacher from Sarnia was full to overflowing as it was held in a church that is located in Brights Grove, Ont. Noelle Paquette went missing after she left a New Year’s Eve party that was held in Sarnia. Exactly a day after, her body was found in a woodlot that was located west of Petrolia.   There have been two people charged with first degree murder – Michael MacGregor, 19, and Tanya Bogdanovich, 31 – and on Tuesday they are scheduled to make their appearance in court. The police refuse to comment on the manner that Paquette died, even though the University Hospital in London conducted an autopsy last weekend. You can only imagine the horror a grieving family from New Mexico experienced when they opened a container holding their deceased loved one’s belongings only to find that it had even more “personal” memorabilia — her brain. The relative in question was a woman killed in a car accident in Utah in 2009. SereniCare prepared the woman’s body and personal effects and shipped them to New Mexico. The family picked up the bag of personal effects from DeVargas Funeral Home in New Mexico. The unnamed family said they noticed a foul odor coming from the container, opened it up ad found a plastic bag labeled “brain”. The family wishes to sue the funeral home, however the New Mexico Court of Appeals has ruled this out as not possible.

Webster Thomas High School’s field house underwent a transformation to become a reception area within three days after the funeral service for fallen firefighter Mike Chiapperini. Numerous volunteers, Wegmans employees, and football coach Schott Deuschle all took part in setting up tables and worked throughout Saturday evening to help in the preparation of the donated food that was meant to feed 4,000 people. From all across the country and even from as far away as Canada, fellow firefighters came in order to express their show of support for a fallen comrade.
