Picking the perfect song for a father-daughter dance, a bridal march, or putting together a playlist for a birthday party sets the moods for the occasion. If you are unfortunate enough to lose a loved one, you’d want the perfect song for a funeral as well, one that embodies the person that he was and commemorates the sadness of his passing.
According to a list compiled by Co-operative Funeralcare, Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” tops their charts with Sarah Brightman/Andrea Bocelli’s “Time To Say Goodbye” in second. Following accordingly were Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings” and Eva Cassidy’s “Over The Rainbow.”
Other songs in the top 20 include Westlife’s “You Raise Me Up” and “Flying Without Wings”, Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” and Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable”, just to name a few. Adele’s “Someone Like You” that was at the top of music charts for several months, also entered the funeral song charts at 22nd.
