Salvatore Esposito, affectionately known as Sal, passed away on August 30, 2024. Born on November 24, 1958, in Brooklyn, NY, Sal was the beloved son of the late Michele and Maria Esposito. He grew up in a vibrant household alongside his sister, Paula, and many cousins who were like siblings to him: Anthony, Nella, Angela, Robert, and the late Paolo.

Sal attended Sacred Heart St. Stephen’s High School in Brooklyn and furthered his education at the College of Aeronautics. His professional journey led him to a distinguished 45-year career as a flight engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft, from which he retired just last year. Known to his colleagues at Sikorsky as the “Deli Don,” Sal took pride in ordering lunch daily for 100 coworkers.

Sal was a fun, kind, and generous family man who was always smiling. He had a deep passion for cars and motorcycles, was an ardent KISS fan, and cheered enthusiastically for the Giants.

He is survived by his sister Paula Mazze; his daughters, Marilyn and Noelle, whom he called the “greatest gifts of his life”; their mother Valerie, who remained very special to him; and his granddaughters, Linny and Kenna, who meant the world to him. Sal is also survived by his nieces and nephews—Michael, Melissa, Lexi, Toni, and Mikey—and his dear Aunt Clara.
