Peter Henry Rizzo, better known as “Pete” to everyone around him, or “Papa” to his grandchildren, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. He was 83 years old. Peter was born August 24, 1941 in Manhattan, New York and lived the majority of his life in Bensonhurst, New York. He was born to Maria and Antonio (Somma) Rizzo. He worked as a carpenter for fifty two years, with his cousin and then moving to Chelsea Floor Covering.

Peter was more than just a grandfather. He was a father, a mentor, a friend, and a pillar of strength. He had a heart that seemed to have no limits, always ready to offer a kind word, a listening ear, or a warm embrace. To those who knew him, he was the kind of person who was selfless, caring and someone you could always count on. Whether you were in need of advice, support, or just someone to share a quiet moment with. His presence was comforting and grounding.

His love for his wife, daughter, and three grandchildren knew no bounds. But that love wasn’t limited to just them. His love extended to his brother-in-laws, his extended family, his friends and the people closest to him in life. He was a constant, loving force in our lives, always ready to lend a hand or offer guidance when we needed it most. His legacy isn’t just in the stories we will tell about him, but in the values he instilled in us, values we will carry forward as we move through life without him.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your love, support, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for helping us celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
