Moving Towards Acceptance in the Process of Grief

September 21, 2015

Grief
In many cases, overcoming grief isn’t actually moving past the feelings of loss, but learning to accept the absence of a loved one. In going through this process, here are 5 things that you should remember:

  1. Find social support through friends and family
  2. Take your time — don’t give yourself a deadline
  3. Express your feelings through a journal or diary
  4. Be compassionate with yourself and with others
  5. Seek the help of a therapist or counselor
