Joseph “Joe” Anthony Tilocca of Westfield, passed away at Center for Hope Hospice on
Saturday, September 26th. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Salvatore
and Theresa. He was the loving husband of Eugenie “Gigi” Orefice Tilocca, with whom he
shared 39 years of marriage.
Joe was so proud of his beautiful daughters and all that they had accomplished: Francesca and
Richard Field of Oak Ridge; and Gianna Tilocca of Westfield. Joe was a man who lived for his
family; with the birth of his granddaughter, Gia Gene Field, his love knew no bounds. Gia is a
gift to all through these difficult times. Joseph leaves behind his brother, Anthony and Lois
Tilocca of Brooklyn; nephew Geoffrey Tilocca; niece Dr. Alexandra Tilocca and Nectario
Konstantopoulos; his great-niece Mia Lou; nephew Christopher Limardi; uncle John Savoca of
Florida; cousin Anthony Troiano; his in-laws Stephan and Gail, Eugene and Susan, nieces
Danielle, Theresa, Samantha, and Katherine, and nephews Andrew and Alex; and his beloved
furry companion of 17 years, Galileo. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by sister
Camille Limardi and aunt Ann Troiano.
From the time he was a small boy, Joe “Tic” loved being out in his home town of Brooklyn. He
played football and men’s softball, and was a dedicated Yankees and Giants Fan. In 1968, Joe
enlisted in the Navy reserves. He was an honest and loyal man. A hard worker his entire life, Joe
started with the International Longshoremen’s Association in 1969, rising through the ranks to
Dock Boss and continuing to work until just this past month. Joe had a life long passion for
movies, music, and fashion. In his adopted home of Westfield, Joe was known for his ready smile
and charm.
