How to Help Teens Deal with Grief

July 25, 2016

According to studies, children who live in fatherless homes are more likely to get involved in drug and alcohol abuse, emotional problems and poor academic performance. While there is absolutely no single way to grieve over a loss of a loved one, there are actually healthier ways to deal with the pain and sadness. Below are some tips on how to do just that.

  • Talk to your teen while allowing her to process stuff.
  • Encourage your teen to find her own, creative way to express her emotions.
  • Encourage your child to keep a journal where she could write her feelings.
  • Allow your teen to be with people who can help her be herself.
