How to Help a Griever Cope

June 25, 2014
When someone you know loses a loved one, it is sometimes difficult to find the right words to say in order to make that person feel less grieved. However, not being able to express your condolences through words may actually come to your advantage. Sometimes, the best approach is to express your feelings through thoughtful actions:
  • Offer as much help as you can, especially in the funeral preparation.
  • The best consolation that you can give a grieving person is your time.
  • Above all things, be a good listener. Avoid dropping comments about how and what they should feel and think.
