Foundation Raised Money for Children’s Bereavement Group

January 27, 2015
Losing a child is the most terrible and heartbreaking of loses for any parent. Some may feel like they may never recover from it. However, some choose to rise up, although difficult, and channel their pain into creating something helpful for others.
The Philips family, composed of parents Christine and David Philips and their daughter Bella, put up The Friends of Aine Foundation after their eldest daughter, Aine, lost her battle to a rare lung disease when she was just 8 years old. They then set on a journey to raise money for the Home Health and Hospice Care bereavement support group for children that Aine’s sister, Bella, attended herself.

“It is incredibly inspiring to see how Christine and David have so positively channeled their sorrow into helping others,” said John Getts, CEO and president of Home Health and Hospice Care.

So it was a wonderful day when the trustees of the foundation finally handed over the check worth $25,000 to the HHHC Good Grief Program.
