Fashion designers don’t usually think about the dead. But for Mark Mitchell he couldn’t help it. Mitchell has had HIV for more than two decades now and has seen the death of many of his friends.
That’s why he came up with clothing designed specifically to be worn by the dead on their funerals.
According to an article by Florangela Davila, “There are nine burial garments, all made out of silk or cotton or leather.”
