Christmas is traditionally a time for happiness and joyous celebration. However, it can also be a painful moment especially for those who are grieving. If you know someone who has recently lost a loved one and needs comforting, here are some tips that might help.

  • Allow the grieving individual to talk about his emotions and the person he has just lost.
  • Help the person to step back and start new traditions.
  • Make sure to intervene right away as soon as the grieving person expresses thoughts of self-harm.
