Maria Mele of Brooklyn  passed away at home at the age of 77 on March 5, 2017. She was born May 7, 1939 in Naples, Italy to the late Salvatore Demata and Leonilda Vitale. She was a talented seamstress that worked at Kleinfeld Bridal. On January 24, 1970 she married Luigi Mele. They were married 47 years. Maria is survived by her devoted husband Luigi, loving children Maria Luisa Walsh, her husband Jim, Hilda Caragiulo, her husband  Nick and Giacomo Mele. Loving brothers include Oresto Demata, his wife Assunta and Angelo Demata. Loving sisters include the late Italia Iaconangelo, her husband Armando, Rita Demata and her husband Salvatore. Cherished grandchildren Michael, Isabella, Sofia and Adrianna. Maria leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
