Robert Berman, 87, a resident of Manhattan, NY, Wilton, CT and Jupiter, FL passed away with family by his side on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. He was born on January 20, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY to Fannie and Meyer Berman.
Bob grew up in Brooklyn, NY, attended Stuyvesant High School and graduated in 1952. After high school, he received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from New York University graduating class of 1956.
Bob worked in sales, including marketing and printing roles, for most of his career. He began his career working for his father, opened his own printing business and ultimately partnered with his wife until his retirement. He was a man of strength who worked hard throughout his life.
Bob’s embracing warm, kind, and gentle personality was contagious. His ever-ready smile could light up a room and his honest, infectious laugh was endearing. He had a zest for life and a youthful spirit. The twinkle in Bob’s eye reflected his love for his wife, Carmen, and he loved nothing more than to have her by his side. His morning ritual was dedicated to making her cappuccinos and starting their day together.
Bob was an engaging conversationalist and carried himself with a comforting, gentle, and kind demeanor. He loved golf, good food, great wine and his dear friends. His passion was his family, and he made a meaningful impact on their lives.
He is survived by his wife Carmen Berman of 44 years; his three daughters: Fern Berman of Bridgeport, CT; Jodi (William) Felton of Weston, CT; Lisa (Vincent) Calitri of Hendersonville, NC; two grandsons: Andrew and Zachary Felton of Weston, CT; and his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and other relatives. Bob was predeceased by his mother Fannie Berman, father Meyer Berman and sister Lenore Ostern.
A private memorial will be held.
Bob will reside eternally in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
