Josephine “Pinuccia” Ammatuna passed away on January 8, 2022, at the age of 86. Josephine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend that brought joy to those who knew her.
Josephine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank. They were happily married and in love for 47 years. She was the loving mother of four children – Margaret Scognamiglio, Maryanne Tierney, Josephine Scala, and William Ammatuna. She was the cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren that adored her – Maria, Katelyn, Josephine, Jessica, Alyssa, Gianni, and Jenna, and the great-grandmother (“GiGi”) to Emilia.
She enjoyed attending the Todt Hill Friendship Club and the Our Lady of Pity Golden Age group. She loved playing Pokeno and Bingo with her friends that she cherished and loved. She looked forward to the Center’s monthly holiday parties where she enjoyed dancing with her friends.
She was a wonderful cook whose Sicilian specialties included homemade pizza, rice balls, and her sought after lasagna.
She lived a full life surrounded by family and friends that loved her. She will be deeply missed by all.
