The Difference Between Sadness, Grief and Depression

Grief, depression and sadness are closely connected emotions but according to experts there are key differences between them.
Sadness, also a key feature of depression, is closely tied with the latter but they aren’t exactly the same. While being sad is normal and will eventually pass, depression can have a negative impact on your life and is something that needs to be taken seriously.
On the other hand, grief is also a normal reaction to any tremendous loss. However, if grief would last longer than two weeks such can be considered as depression.
