While it is pretty normal to talk about life events in the workplace, the grieving process is probably the last thing that employees would like to talk or even talk about. According to experts, grieving in the workplace, if not handled properly, can have an adverse impact on one’s work. Dealing with pain and the loss of a loved one can take a toll only on the workers but also on employers.
In a pioneering study called the Grief Index, it was found out that lack of concentration can actually lead to lost productivity. In the same manner, employees’ and employers’ decision-making skills can also be affected by grief incidents.
