Decarlo, Louise

Louise DeCarlo, 87 of Brooklyn, NY passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Hopkins Center for Rehabilitation.
Born on July 1, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Angelina DeCarlo.
A longtime resident of the Carroll Gardens area of Brooklyn, Louise worked for many years at Bankers Trust in Manhattan, NY. She was a dedicated member of the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church throughout her life and was a caring, thoughtful and charitable person who was always doing for others and was known to have a soft spot in her heart for children, who brought her much enjoyment.
Louise strongly valued family and was devoted to both her mother and brothers over the years and enjoyed many special and memorable gatherings with family both locally as well as in the Boston, MA, San Pedro, CA and Las Vegas, NV areas.
Survivors include a beloved sister, Rose DiStefano of Framingham, MA, nieces, Emidia DiBernardo of San Pedro, CA, Angelina Castelli of Rancho Mirage, CA, Laura Castiglione of San Pedro, CA, Barbara DiStefano of Bedford, MA and nephews Patrick DiStefano of Las Vegas, NV and Thomas DiStefano of Orlando, FL. Louise also leaves very close cousins Filomena Peruffo of Brooklyn, NY and John Peruffo and Patricia Incorvaia of Staten Island, NY and many extended family members, close friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by sister, Mary Valtino and brothers, Anthony, Salvatore and Vincent DeCarlo.
Louise was also blessed and thankful for her close and longstanding neighborhood friendships with Pete and Barbara Scotti, Joanie Bracco and Gloria Annunziato and their acts of kindness and support during times of need as well as for Richie Fera, a very special friend, and his family for their committed support, and for Roseann LaFace, her entrusted caregiver, who was very special to Louise in recent years. She was predeceased by long time and very special neighborhood friends, Mary LoPresti and Stella LoPresti.
Family will be greeting visitors on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Scotto Funeral Home, Brooklyn, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 467 Court Street. Burial to follow at St. John’s Cloisters Cemetery, Middle Village/Queens, New York.
