Bobby Gene was born to the late John Fenner and Willie Mae Cox. He was raised an only child.
Bobby grew up and attended school in Ayden, North Carolina. There he received a high school diploma,from South Ayden H.S. Afterwards, Boddy was drafted into the U.S.Army. He received a medical discharge in 1968. Bobby then moved to NYC. He received an certification as Machinist from BerkTrade school in Brooklyn, NY.
Bobby worked in the Culinary Arts at Concerned Citizens of Sunset Park, as well as Mount Sinai and Flower Fifth ave Hospitals. In the later years, Bobby was employed as staff organizer of District Council 1707/AFSCME, A FL-CIO in New York City, Until his retirement in 2012.
Bobby had two great passions in his life. The Labor Movement/Union and the Blackvets for Social Justice.
Boddy is survived by this wife Carolyn J. Cox, four biological children. four step children, one Godson, one Aunt, His Godparents, a host of Grandchildren, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
