When parents die, they do not only leave behind their children but also their partners. It’s impossible to quantify whether one person is more grieved than the other, although, in many cases, the children may feel that it is their responsibility to care for their bereaved parents.
If you’re have recently lost a parent, here are some things that you should keep in mind about his/her partner:
- Be there to care for your parent and look after his/her needs.
- Understand that the grief may trigger certain behaviors such as forgetfulness and disorganization.
