Pamala M. Shaughnessey-Banks, the owner-operator of the Reef Road Funeral Home, is the recipient of a Chamber of Commerce award. The award is given to highlight the accomplishments of businesswomen in Fairfield.
Shaughnessey-Banks received the Women’s Economic Spotlight Recognition Award. It’s sponsored by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and state Rep. Kim Fawcett. In a news release, the award sponsors said that the mortuary industry has been dominated by the males and a fewer than 5% of the funeral homes in the nation are owned and managed by women.
