A British man lost his wife and daughter in the Kenyan shopping centre attack. He recalled the last time that he spoke to them as well as the heart-stopping moment when he found out about their death.
Louis Bawa, a businessman from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, said that he had spoken to them but didn’t get a chance to catch up with them again. His daughter Jennah Bawa, 8 years old, had been on a shopping trip with her mother Zahira.
On the day of the attack, Mr. Bawa was waiting outside of the mall for news of his family but realized they were among the victims. On Sunday night, a team went in to bring some bodies. According to Mr. Bawa, they had to look at the pictures of those bodies and that’s how he knew that his daughter and wife were among the victims.
