How Children Respond to Death

Children would lack the the understanding and necessary knowledge in order to properly deal with the loss of a loved one because it is not something that they are ready for. Since even adults have a hard time coping with it, it’s not surprising that children find it difficult to cope with death. Children would naturally have a lot of questions when they are faced with death in their family.
According to Julie Power for smh.com.au, “About one in 20 children will have a parent who dies by the time they turned 16, she says, adding it is important to use the words death and dying instead of euphemisms.”
