Sunil M. Shah, MBBS, of the Division of Population Health Sciences and Education at St. George’s University of London, conducted a study on 170,000 couples over the age of 60. She looked at deaths from chronic illness versus sudden deaths and how these have affected the bereaved mortality risk.
